Hey vapors, you bring a smile to my face with your comment. It's kind of wild how theoretically anybody with internet access could listen in and hear what you heard on a day that changed your life. Another face on the marble eyed transitory dream doll... and the music comes alive in a whole new way.

Ain't it the truth?! I have a special place for two CREAM shows (I know, I know...sorry) since my older brother that passed away was at them, and always raved about how good they were (as I've bored you all with before). So, since he moved "on" in 2007, they've (those two CREAM shows) have had a special effect, a special place in my heart. Not in a bad way either--just as if a bit of him comes through when listening now.

It strange that, isn't it ? I was at a Dylan & Clapton show in 1978, a big outdoor event with so many cars there that we decided just to kip in ours and drive home when it got light. When we arrived home everyone was up, because one of our housemates had been killed in a motorbike accident. I have a bootleg of that show, and listening to it reminds me of the man he was rather than the effect of his death.

hey wt. regarding cream, it's been a few years since i really gave them a good listen. i went through an obsessive phase with them, and listened to everything i could find, but did not take notes on which live shows i liked the best. i listened to most of their live shows on sugarmegs, but don't remember which ones were the best. from the following list, if you can point out any shows that are especially good, i would really appreciate it.

Unfotunately, many of their shows are poor AUDs. By far and away the best, according to LiA, me and many others, is 10-15-67. Top of the heap, quality and performance.

Then, 10-4 and 10-20 + 10-24 in 1968 are all good quality, even if they are winding down by then...

Finally, March, 68, most any are good since they were recording for WofF. But there are not many circulating. Esp look for the three versions of SofYL that circulate as upgrades of 3-18-68, but are 3-7-68 or some such combination (ie, they are "filler" on a show, trk 7-9, from 3-7, I think). Amazing mix for Jack.

much thanks mr. tell. i missed the excitement of live cream shows. they have even more kick than most '67-'68 dead shows.

It sure was easier to enjoy the music back then, living in the moment with Jerry, before the archive (and the rascals here on the forum) opened my ears. Nice to hear from you dp!
